Originally titled Mena –– American Made will be released on Sept. 29.
In the summer of 2015 Tom Cruise was a regular around town as he shot many scenes from his upcoming film American Made right here in Roswell. The film was originally called Mena but is being released as American Made. It stars Cruise as real-life American pilot and hustler Barry Seal, who ran drugs in the 1980s for cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar and was recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in history.
Principal photography on the film began on May 27, 2015 with filming locations that included GA counties Cherokee, Clayton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Morgan, Pickens and of course Fulton (Roswell). It’ll be fun to pick out our various neighborhoods, which is becoming an activity with so many films being shot in Georgia.
