Harvest on the Hooch returns this weekend

With fall in full swing it’s time to get out and enjoy the sights, sounds, and yes even the tastes of nature. If you’re like me, you’re probably looking for inspiration for yummy fall dishes. Look no further because one of the most popular (and favorite) events is just around the corner.

Harvest on the Hooch returns on Sunday, Oct. 15. It’s sure to bring out the foodie in everyone. This event takes place at the Unity Garden urban farm and features a variety of local cuisine from the north Atlanta area. More than 20 local restaurants and local breweries will feature some of their best food. It’s a family event, with children under 10 admitted free for plenty of crafts, a petting zoo and games to enjoy.

Whether you are feeling adventurous with the art of food or just looking to learn new skills, there is an exclusive VIP pre-event at 12 p.m. with local celebrity chef Doug Turbush, executive chef of Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar, as well as Seed Kitchen & Bar. Turbush will put his skills to the test with a live cooking demonstration of fall ingredients. With a glass of champagne in hand, you will get the chance to sit back and relax while enjoying this intimate event.

Then head over to the main event. While you enjoy delicious food and drinks, remember that the proceeds from this event help benefit North Fulton Community Charities Food Pantry.
Do you know someone in the community facing limited access to healthy and nutritious food? Every year, since 2010, the CNC Unity Garden supplies more than four tons of food to NFCC, which benefits families across North Fulton.

“North Fulton Community Charities and our family love the Unity Garden,” said Melody Fortin, food pantry manager at North Fulton Community Charities. “The ability for a food pantry to provide such fresh and nutritious produce is rare, so we are very lucky to be a recipient of the garden.”

Harvest on the Hooch is Sunday, October 15 from 1-4 p.m. The VIP event begins at noon.

Tickets to Harvest on the Hooch are $45 for general admission before the event, with children 10 and under free. CNC members are $40, and the VIP pre-event is $100 per person (which includes entry to Harvest on the Hooch). Tickets can be purchased online at harvestonthehooch.org.
