In East Cobb there is a lot happening in the restaurant game. Some in the area refer to the corner of Lower Roswell Road and Woodlawn Road the “Bermuda Triangle” of restaurants. I say this because a new place (as of press time unnamed) is opening up… let’s hope they make it.
One concept that seems to be hot is the poké concept with The Poké Bowl opening in the Woodlawn Commons Shopping Center. The concept is explained in our food column this month.
Muss & Turner’s located at 1205 Johnson Ferry Rd. is making changes to its service model. They are offering a full service lunch and a brunch on Sundays. Over at The Avenue East Cobb, Stockyard Burgers with a location already in Marietta, will be taking over the Brixx location. Stockyard will offer patrons a full-service dining experience in its renowned rustic, contemporary style, an enhanced patio seating area, full liquor bourbon bar and award-winning burgers and bones entree selections. They plan on an early 2018 opening.
On Dec. 1 and 2 the folks at St. Ann’s Catholic Church are having their 37th Annual Annie Arts & Craft Show. They feature over 120 artists who are carefully selected to showcase their handmade items such as pottery, jewelry, wood making, holiday décor and more. The show also has a bake sale benefitting the St. Ann’s pre-school and the Apple Annie Café will be serving soups, sandwiches, and beverages. Parking is available onsite at the Church, located at 4905 Roswell Road, Marietta, GA 30062 and also at The Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, located at 1795 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30062, where shuttle service to Apple Annie will be provided.
