Creative Writing Camps for Kids

Barrington Hall Hosts Creative Writing Summer Day Camps for Kids

Roswell’s historic Barrington Hall will continue its fifth year of children’s creative writing summer camps in June and July. The camps are designed for children ages 10-14 and will be held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year’s camps include:

June 20–24: Beginner’s Camp
June 27–July 1: Beginner’s Camp
July 11–15: Beginner’s Camp
July 18–22: Advanced Camp
July 25–29: Advanced Camp

The camps are led by award-winning children’s book author Mary Ann Rodman. In 2010, Rodman’s young adult novel Yankee Girl was chosen for inclusion in the Georgia Center for the Books’ inaugural list of “25 Books All Young Georgians Should Read.” Rodman uses guided exercises, along with field trips that inspire and encourage creative thinking, to teach participants how to tell stories clearly while engaging their audience.

The cost per child is $250, and space is limited to 15 children per camp.  For more information or to reserve a spot, call 770-640-3855.
