In response to the recent shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has received an influx of people wanting to “do” something. People want to be allies for their neighbors but do not know how to do this or what to say. It is also important for us to have the tools to address the hateful rhetoric and incivility that is becoming more commonplace in our society. The ADL is addressing this issue head-on with the program A Call To Action: Becoming An Upstander. Your organization is invited to partner with ADL for a 2-hour interactive workshop to bring together people of Jewish, Muslim, and Christian faith to examine issues of privilege and bias and gain the skills to respond to insensitive or hateful comments. 3 – 5 p.m., St Mark UMC, 781 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. adl.org.
