Head over to the Chattahoochee Nature Center the 2nd and 4th Thursday, August through September, for Sunset Sips, a laid back, family-friendly event. The CNC grounds will be open for you to explore, and there will be live, local music, a cash bar, and feel free to bring a picnic dinner. August 8, enjoy Choppin’ Wood, a local bluegrass music trio comprised of three of the best bluegrass musicians in the region. Joe Kimsey, an accomplished banjo player, has played in many bands including Frances Mooney and Fontana Sunset. Michael Smith on mandolin, a member of the Dappled Greys, is hands down the best bluegrass band to come out of Atlanta. Smith also plays with Whiskey Gentry and was a one time touring member of the multi-platinum country band Sugarland. Chuck Sitero on guitar is a member of High Lonesome and previously of the Barn Rats. Included with General Admission. Free to CNC Members.
