Mary Drake spent her life working to improve the lives of those less fortunate in the Roswell community. The Drake House was named after her to recognize her work, and Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’ was established as a way to raise funds for this short-term crisis center that provides a lifeline of supportive housing and enrichment programs for homeless mothers and their children in north metro Atlanta. So grab your family and neighbors for an afternoon of fun at the 15th Annual Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’. Sample over 100 flavors of homemade ice cream made by the dedicated community volunteer ice cream “crankers” – corporate, civic, faith, and family teams who compete for top awards by local judges. Categories include Best Vanilla, Best Chocolate, Best Fruit, and Best Other Flavor. Kids enjoy the bouncy house, face painting, and competing in the famous ice cream eating and stacking contests. General Admission is $7. Proceeds from the event directly benefit families and programs of The Drake House. Roswell Square Park, 610 Atlanta Street, Roswell. 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
