In an age where many tasks can be completed with the click of a button, why shouldn’t receiving high-quality healthcare services be convenient, too? People in Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton and surrounding communities who are looking for a one-stop shop for many types of medical services will be able to find it at WellStar Avalon Health Park opening this winter.
“We continually strive to put our patients at the center of all we do, and creating the health park concept is one way we’re doing that,” said Jon-Paul Croom, WellStar senior vice president and president of WellStar North Fulton Hospital. “Patients need to receive the right type of care, right when they need it. The WellStar Avalon Health Park makes that happen.”
For example, a patient who visits the Urgent Care practice in the Health Park and needs an X-ray for an injury can walk down the hallway and receive the X-ray when the Urgent Care physician orders one. A patient who needs a blood test to identify a certain medical condition can receive the test through the Health Park’s Lab services.
Patients will also find a variety of medical specialty offices inside the two-story, 40,000-square-foot facility, including primary care, pediatrics, several surgical specialties and cardiology. OrthoSport physical therapy and rheumatology will also be available.
Croom said the Health Park feels like visiting a hotel, not a medical facility.
“In addition to bringing the region’s best physicians to the neighborhoods we serve, we want to ensure patients have a great overall experience when they come to the Avalon Health Park to receive care,” said Croom. “Parking is convenient, it’s easy for patients to find their way around and the Health Park’s environment is calm, clean and comfortable. As our patients’ partner in healthcare, we’re treating the whole person from the time they arrive to the time they leave—and beyond, as they incorporate their treatment plans into their daily lives.”
Croom said North Fulton Hospital has been a community fixture for more than 35 years. It’s the only American College of Surgeons-verified Level II Trauma Center in the area and a Joint Commission-recognized Primary Stroke Center. The world-class care the hospital provides was the foundation behind the Health Park concept.
“With Avalon Health Park, we’re providing another way for patients to receive top-notch care,” he said. “What’s more, patients will enjoy the added benefit of one electronic medical record platform, so a patient’s medical record follows them wherever they go across the System.”
