WellStar brings speaker series to North Fulton
WellStar is introducing this spring its Speaking About Wellness series to the WellStar North Fulton Hospital community.
The Speaking about Wellness for Healthy Aging Quarterly Seminar Series provides people age 50 and older with the tools to make lifestyle enhancements for their personal health and well-being. The theme for 2018 is “Your Key to Healthy Aging.”
The Speaking about Wellness for Women Quarterly Seminar Series focuses on education, prevention and early intervention information for women of all ages.
The monthly events take place in North Fulton Hospital and include healthy dinner and dessert, presentation by featured speaker, educational materials and a gift. Participants that attend all four programs in the series will receive a special gift at the end of the year.
Genetic Counseling: What It Can Tell Us and What It Cannot
Did you know WellStar offers a comprehensive genetic risk assessment program to help patients identify possible hereditary causes of cancer, cardiac conditions and more? A board-certified genetic counselor can assess an individual’s risk by collecting a detailed family history, reviewing medical history and exploring the possibility of genetic testing for various hereditary syndromes. This presentation will focus on some situations where testing may be appropriate and what information can be helpful to individuals and their relatives from test results.
